STRUCTURAL BIOLOGYA Python-based command-line tool for visualizing Ramachandran plots directly from a PDB ID, facilitating the analysis of protein structures in bioinformatics.
A second-year BSMS student at IISER Mohali interested in working at the intersection of machine learning and biology. Building and documenting under the xeonn moniker.
I'm a second-year BSMS student at IISER Mohali, pursuing biology and math as my pre-majors. I am fundamentally interested in how living systems store information in sequences and how a cell recognizes and responds to these signals. I use Python as a tool to learn more about biological systems, whether that means modelling a population over time or trying to predict what a protein's amino acid sequence reveals about its localisation.
Currently, my curiosity centers on the question of how a protein's amino acid sequence influences its localisation within a biological system. I am particularly interested in using protein language models to predict protein localisation, and what such a model actually picks up to make such predictions.
To explore concepts hands-on, I write Python scripts and simulations and learn along the way. I have a strong foundation in programming to tackle challenges ranging from building class-based simulations to writing scripts for shortest superstring overlap questions on Rosalind. On campus, I participate frequently in the Turing Club, the computational club of IISER Mohali, where I build the front-end for institute event websites or design an app's UI/UX flow in Figma.
Selected independent and self-guided projects. Open source and documented on GitHub.
